Mike McGuire is entering his 20th year as a professional broadcaster, and has over two decades of involvement behind the scenes of professional wrestling. Once training for in-ring competition, a previous spinal injury prevented him continuing to train as a wrestler. Instead, he brought his passion for wrestling and his broadcasting skills to the ring in different ways.
Starting as a ringside photographer, McGuire would cover events in Central and Northern Alberta, before becoming the regular ring announcer for Edmonton's Prairie Wrestling Alliance. Once his radio career took him to other markets, Mike would continue to learn from promoters across Western Canada, creating and assisting in production of shows and furthering his skills as an interviewer.
In 2021, Mike approached Jason Agnew, former member of the "Live Audio Wrestling" show and creator of "Sunday Night's Main Event" about a role in assisting their podcast network. That communication would transition into an opportunity to become the lead host and producer of the flagship show that aired nationally on TSN Radio, until shortly before that entity dissolved nationally.
Mike's passion to bring high-quality, meaningful and entertaining wrestling coverage spawned the creation of "McGuire on Wrestling". Since 2023, the show has strived to continue the legacy of entertaining, informed shows, with servicing the listener first and foremost in mind. Forming relationships with promoters, journalists, and the biggest companies around the world, McGuire on Wrestling serves as the flagship show for a growing network of podcasts.
Today, Mike continues his radio career with Vista Radio, who have also agreed to support the MOW Podcasts, through online and on-air support. He also serves as commentator and ring announcer for the Hart family's Dungeon Wrestling based out of Calgary, Alberta, Promoted by Dallas Hart, and booked by the legendary Bret "Hitman" Hart.
